Last Wednesday at our Midweek Worship Service, Stacy Kyle Rea spoke about Jacob's wrestling match with an angel of the Lord and the ways that he held on and sought blessing in his life. In last weekend's outstanding performance of Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat (the entire production was amazing - Thank you cast and crew!), we were reminded how, by God's grace, Joseph held on as God took something that was meant for evil and used it for good. This Wednesday at 7:30 (dinner available in St. Andrew's Hall at 6:30), we will be looking at "Joseph, Wrong Place, Wrong Time" and how Joseph hangs on to God's promises.
Please pray for the Slack and Rubendall families that they too may be able to hang on to God's promises in the face of unspeakable tragedy. Funeral Services at St. Andrew's Church for Maddox Slack will take place this Friday at 5PM with family visitation at 3PM and for Janice Rubendall this Saturday at 10:30 AM with visitation at 9AM.
Along with our regular Sunday Worship Schedule (This week: "Christ in the Darkness"), Saturday worship at 5PM resumes this weekend.
Thank you, Jesus, for holding on to us when we don't deserve it. Thank you for blessing hands, for holding hands, for clutching hands, for sharing and caring hands, and for nail pierced hands that will never let us go. Amen.
